OPP Films

AET Films is North America's leading developer and only independent global supplier dedicated solely to the manufacturing of oriented polypropylene (OPP) films. AET operates research pilot facilities in Newport, Delaware and Covington, Virginia. AET also operates three production facilities located in Terre Haute, Indiana, Covington, Virginia and Varennes, Quebec, Canada. Our Terre Haute facility is the largest single site in the world dedicated to the manufacture of OPP films. OPP Films are used for: food overwrap, shrink wrap, food labels, product labels, plastic wrap, food packaging and plastic labels just to name a few.

Labels for bottles and cans, flexible packaging for confectionery and snack foods, pet foods, condiments, holographic films for gift-wrap and promotional packages, barrier films and heat-sealable films used to protect cheeses, meats and fresh produce while maintaining their freshness and cleanliness, fruit and candy bars, and newly popular pouch and drink packages all benefit from films made by AET. In fact, one in four packages containing OPP are made by AET.

AET's unique manufacturing capabilities allow the company to make film using either the tenter or tubular process. In the tubular process, or bubble, the film undergoes balanced orientation, which allows for balanced shrink around the package. AET also offers a number of overwrap films produced from the tenter process including shrink, acrylic-coated and coextruded films.
